Atlantic City casinos honor America’s veterans

The Casino Association of New Jersey on Thursday said that will offer appreciation to veterans and active-duty military personnel this Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11.

“We are proud to honor America’s veterans who have bravely served our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice and their commitment to protecting the values and freedom we hold dear,” Mark Giannantonio, president of the Casino Association of New Jersey said.

CANJ Trustee Michael Monty, Bally’s Atlantic City General Manager, served in the US ARMY Fort Benning, GA / Kandahar, Afghanistan / Fort Drum, NY Infantry Officer from 2010 to 2015. During an eight-month deployment to Southern Afghanistan, Monty led a 35-man infantry platoon in over 150 mounted and dismounted missions to disrupt the Taliban and provide security for the local population. Monty commanded a 310-soldier company and was specially selected as a lieutenant to serve in a position normally held by a senior Captain. He earned a Ranger Tab, Airborne Wings, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, and Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

“We are proud of Mike’s incredible service to our country and the contribution he brings to our industry,” Giannantonio said.
