Wayne-based Valley Bank on Tuesday said Jorge Flamengo has been named vice president, business development officer, for the community lending team in New Jersey. In his new role, he will be working closely with underserved women- and minority-owned businesses, providing them with access to capital and other financial services.
Flamengo has been with Valley for 17 years and brings extensive experience working with minority business customers, nonprofits and government agencies in Essex County and the state. For the past four years, he was a market manager in Newark, where he was instrumental in developing the relationship and the Language of Capital series with Invest Newark. The program provides Newark-based entrepreneurs with instruction to build business acumen, equipping them to make the most informed decisions to achieve their entrepreneurial goals.
Valley’s community lending team provides financial products, resources and connections to women- and minority-owned businesses across Valley Bank’s U.S. footprint, from New York south through Florida.
