11 from N.J. rank on Deloitte’s 2022 North America Technology Fast 500

Deloitte recently released its “North America Technology Fast 500,” an annual ranking of the fastest-growing North American companies in the technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, fintech and energy tech sectors.

In the list’s 28th year, 11 companies from New Jersey were selected as awardees based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2018 to 2021. Overall, the 2022 Technology Fast 500 companies achieved revenue growth ranging from 241% to 125,138% over the three-year time frame, with a median growth rate of 611%.

Technology companies in a variety of sectors work tirelessly to help address societal challenges facing the world, while also staying focused on growing and building their businesses.

Some interesting results from this year’s list include:

  • Software and services companies came out on top, representing most of the winners for the 27th straight year (61%). Life sciences and fintech rounded out the Top 3 industry categories, with 19% and 9% of total winners, respectively.
  • California’s Bay Area had an impressive showing in this year’s list, leading the regional representation with 20% of the Technology Fast 500 winners.
  • Venture capital backing continued to be a winning strategy this year, with 83% of the companies listed backed by venture capital or private equity funding at some point in their company history, up from 81% last year.

“The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 winners shine a light on the impressive innovation and entrepreneurship that we see in the Garden State,” Paul Krieger, New Jersey managing partner, Deloitte, stated. “New Jersey attracts high-caliber talent and has a great infrastructure for growth. Despite a challenging year, these companies have made the most of it.”
