Rebecca Basso of the Valley Health System and Gregory Zanone of Atlantic Health System have been named 20 Under 40 honorees by the Emergency Nurses Association.
Basso is the director of the emergency department and emergency services for the Valley Hospital. Zanone is a flight nurse.
The two were highlighted in a recent ENA publication, which included profiles of each recipient, detailing their professional accomplishments, and their motivations to help their communities and advance health care.
They were the only two nurses from New Jersey to receive the national honor.
Basso said she felt the honor should be shared by her colleagues.
“To be recognized by a professional organization like the Emergency Nurses Association is a huge honor, and I share that with my colleagues at the Valley Hospital,” she said. “I am so grateful to be an employee at Valley, as I have been afforded many opportunities to make a difference in the lives of our patients and our employees.
“Valley has also supported my pursuit of further education and provided me with countless opportunities to grow as a clinician, leader, and individual. I am humbled to be recognized alongside 19 other talented emergency nursing leaders following some of the most difficult years in health care.”
