Owning, operating, reenvisioning and reinvigorating three of the four buildings that make up Gateway Center in the heart of Newark might be enough to put Onyx high on the list — as it profoundly demonstrates the firm’s all-in bet on suburban office. Here’s the thing: Gateway is one of multiple projects the firm is working on. Here are two others: It is recreating Summit East, a 640,000-square-foot, 11-building office campus that features two newly modernized Class A, LEED-certified buildings interconnected by two enclosed pedestrian bridges; and it is working with Russo Development to spearhead a project that will reshape New Jersey Transit’s busy Metropark station in Woodbridge.
