NJCU Foundation raises more than $45,000 on Giving Tuesday

The generosity of New Jersey City University‘s community exceeded expectations, this year more than $45,000 was raised on #NJCUGivingTuesday 2022.

New Jersey City University, together with the NJCU Foundation, said that, in all, 141 donors contributed $45,391 — 13.5% higher than the stated campaign goal of $40,000.

This year, the NJCU Foundation expects to award $901,000 in scholarships to 285 students, and the #NJCUGivingTuesday campaign is the largest crowdfunding campaign that contributes to these outcomes.

“The NJCU Foundation is incredibly grateful to all who continue to give to our university each year, including on Giving Tuesday, as we work to shape the lives of our amazing and talented students,” Peter Hernandez, the chair of the NJCU Foundation board of directors, said.

All proceeds benefit the NJCU Fund, which supports all areas of the university and enriches the experience for its students, but most prominently students’ immediate and greatest needs.

#NJCUGivingTuesday impacts the core of the institution’s mission, which educates a population that no other four-year public institution in the state of New Jersey serves.
