Asch joins Riker as member of firm’s Environmental Group

Jordan Asch has joined Riker Danzig as a member of its Environmental Group, the firm announced.

Asch, who received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Vermont Law School in 2014, comes to the firm after nearly two years at Asch Legal, a boutique environmental firm in Bergen County that he founded and where he served as the managing member.

Riker Danzig officials feel Asch brings strong experience representing clients in a wide range of environmental regulatory, transactional and litigation matters.

His environmental permitting and compliance skills include navigating permitting and compliance issues under the Federal Clean Water Act, the New Jersey Freshwater Wetlands Act and the Flood Hazard Area Control Act, among other administrative matters.

Asch is experienced in defending clients against enforcement actions by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for regulatory violations, and for remediation and cleanup costs under the New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act.

In the site remediation area, Asch counsels clients on federal regulatory compliance and enforcement matters, including under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act and the Toxic Substances Control Act.

Asch also provides counsel in dispute resolution and litigation matters concerning environmental liabilities stemming from corporate transactions and legacy liability, the purchase and sale of real estate, contractual disputes and for the release of hazardous substances under statutory law. In addition, he has experience representing environmental organizations in legislative and administrative proceedings.

Asch graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2009.
