Valley Home Care launches bereavement support group geared toward partner loss

Valley Home Care in Ridgewood has started New Beginnings — a new, virtual bereavement support and discussion group for those who have experienced the loss of a partner within the last 12 months.

The first meeting will be 6-7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 on Microsoft Teams. The group, which intends to meet four times a year, is planning for future meetings in May, August and November.

Carley Anne Tsaglos, a licensed social worker and seasoned group facilitator, will serve as the group leader.

“This group is designed to offer meaningful conversation as we explore this unique loss and how it shapes our lives,” she said. “Our goal is to help foster a connection with others, decrease isolation and speak freely.”

Tsaglos, who received her Master of Social Work from New York University, has focused on group work for the last 25 years. She specializes in topics related to illness, loss and bereavement.
