Sax LLP on Tuesday said it named Nicholas Valentini as the firm’s new chief financial officer, effective Dec. 29. The Top 100 accounting, tax and advisory firm based in Parsippany also said it has initiated its next generation of firm leaders with the promotion of two senior managers and one C-suite executive to the position of partner.
The following advisers have joined an impressive management team at Sax, which is now comprised of 53 partners, effective Jan. 1: Adam Holzberg, Lisa Mela and Michael Rolls.

Valentini joins the firm after serving as CFO at a Top 50 accounting firm and brings over a decade of professional experience and extensive accounting knowledge to Sax. Within his role, he will be responsible for all facets of finance and accounting practices for the firm, including financial reporting, forecasting strategies and budget management. Valentini will also work closely with firm management in planning its strategic growth. In addition to guiding the development of new and effective systems and processes within the firm to bolster productivity and efficiency, he will play a critical role in ensuring the firm’s overall financial health.
As for Sax’s newest partners:
- Holzberg specializes in audits, accounting and advisory services for closely held companies and not-for-profit organizations. He is an important member of the firm’s Nonprofit, Health Care and growing Cannabis practices. He focuses on increasing the overall operational efficiencies, financial reporting best practices and internal controls for clients.
- Mela is a member of the firm’s Trusts and Estates Practice and specializes in fiduciary compliance, estate and trust tax planning, fiduciary accountings (informal and formal), estate and gift planning, gift tax compliance, income tax planning and tax compliance for high net worth individuals.
- Rolls was formerly Sax’s chief financial officer, and now serves as partner and chief operating officer. Rolls is instrumental in setting the firm’s strategic vision by guiding the adoption and investment of new technologies into its business processes. As a member of Sax’s Innovation and Information Technology committees, he collaborates with staff on the firm’s digital transformation journey.
