Atkins Cos. inks lease to bring mental health provider to Medford

With the growing demand for mental health services, Atkins Cos said Tuesday that it helped facilitate a new lease with Partners for Healing and Changework at Medford Medical Center, located in Medford.

Set to occupy the space located at 103 Old Marlton Pike within the first quarter of 2023, Partners for Healing and Changework offers a wide variety of counseling services to assist those who wish to make changes, reduce stress and improve their lives. Its list of services includes individual therapy for children, teens and adults, family and couples therapy, bereavement counseling and hypnosis, among others.

Atkins Cos. said it also signed a lease with Peaceful Practices in June 2022 at the property. Peaceful Practices offers comprehensive services, including anger management, counseling for anxiety, counseling for trauma, mindfulness health and wellness coaching, social anxiety disorder counseling and therapy for depression to individuals, couples and families.

“The growing need for mental health services is a national topic for a reason. There are countless individuals in need of specialized services, but many find it challenging to find local access,” Bob Atkins, principal of Atkins Cos., stated. “We’ve been happy to work with each of these providers to enhance their delivery of much-needed care to the local community and look forward to building upon our relationship with them in the years to come.”

Prior to Atkins’ acquisition of the Medford Medical Center in September 2017, the building was comprised of 20 commercial condominium units owned by several individual practitioners. The ownership structure of the building had caused a lag in ongoing capital improvements and general upkeep, leaving a medical office asset that was struggling to attract quality tenants.

After acquiring the Medford Medical Center through a joint venture with Capital Solutions Inc., Atkins oversaw an extensive renovation project at the building that involved a series of upgrades, including a new exterior façade and fully renovated interior common spaces.

Today, the two-story, 46,000-square-foot medical office building is anchored by established medical groups Larchmont Imaging and South Jersey Eye Physicians and is home to a number of other prominent health care providers.

Located across the street from the Medford Municipal Building, the Medford Medical Center is ideally located near numerous retail centers and amenities and is also adjacent to Route 70, which provides direct access to downtown Philadelphia.
