Bakutes joins DLA as managing director, accounting advisory

DLA, a leading provider of internal audit and accounting advisory services, announced Tuesday that Joseph Bakutes has joined the firm as managing director, accounting advisory.

Bakutes has over 15 years of experience in accounting, specializing in guiding companies throughout the corporate lifecycle in matters including U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, internal/external audit, internal controls, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards policies and procedures, system conversion, financial reporting, treasury and financial risk management.

His experience in guiding organizations through change initiatives allowed him to improve their operational and financial performance, by reengineering accounting and financial processes and implementing new reporting and monitoring tools.

Prior to joining DLA, Bakutes served as a senior director of accounting with a technology platform, where he led the accounting function, implemented Securities & Exchange Commission-required policies and executed new financial reporting policies. Prior to working at the technology platform, he worked at Deloitte.
