Jersey first: Mike’s Amazing (mayo, mustard) signs partnership deal with Pru Center, Devils

As the only professional sports team in the state that doesn’t feel the need to include New York in its team name, the New Jersey Devils always have led the way in promoting and partnering with other Garden State-based organizations.

Mike’s Amazing products.

And, let’s be clear, they should be saluted for doing so — even if we’re talking mayonnaise and mustard.

On Wednesday, the Devils and the Prudential Center announced a multiyear partnership with Mike’s Amazing, a local condiment company based out of Saddle Brook.

Through the partnership, Mike’s Amazing will have exclusive product distribution at Prudential Center for mayonnaise, mustard and vegetable oil, in all concession areas, including suites and premium spaces, according to the media release.

And, while we’re taking a wait-and-see approach on the availability of vegetable oil, the staying true to New Jersey certainly holds true (just as it did in February, when the groups announced a partnership with Freehold-based energy drink NERD Focus).

Chad Biggs, senior vice president, corporate partnerships activation, said the team and the arena always look Jersey-first — and that Mike’s Amazing being from Saddle Brook was a big part of the deal.

“It played a vital role,” he said. “We are New Jersey’s team; we look to align ourselves with New Jersey-based companies that share our values, our pride in being a New Jersey company and our commitment to the Jersey communities in which we live, work and play.

“We look to do business with New Jersey companies and take great pride in the longstanding partnerships we have with some of New Jersey’s great and innovative companies.”

The makers of Mike’s Amazing brand of mayonnaises, vegetable oils, mustards and salad dressings said the products reflect the obsessive pursuit of perfection of food industry veteran and Chefler Foods founder Michael Leffler.

Chefler Foods was established in 2016 with the vision of serving as a purveyor of top-quality products at affordable prices to both consumers and the food service industry. Drawing from decades of manufacturing and packaging experience and utilizing a global network of resources, Chefler provides a vertically integrated state-of-the-art facility located in Saddle Brook, and is passionately committed to its customers — delivering only the highest-quality products with a level of personal service unmatched in the marketplace.

The announcement marks Mike’s Amazing’s first-ever partnership with a New Jersey sports team. As part of the deal, Mike’s Amazing will receive digital signage at all concession areas on the menu boards, LED-ribbon digital marketing during Devils games and during select Prudential Center shows, and a dasherboard advertisement.

Michael Kurland, the chief financial officer of parent company Chefler Foods, said Mike’s Amazing is ready to go.

“We are extremely excited to partner with a team that shares our New Jersey values,” he said. “As demand for Mike’s Amazing products continues to grow, we are very privileged to offer them in this amazing venue and have the opportunity to engage directly with fans who are as passionate about their team as we are about the food we are producing for them here in the Garden State.”
