Webb confirmed for spot on N.J. Public Health Council

Newark-based pediatric dentist Dr. Suffyah Webb recently was confirmed for a spot on the New Jersey Public Health Council by the state Senate.

The council, established in 1977, ensures the reasonable protection of the health of the public at large in the state of New Jersey.

Webb, who was nominated by Gov. Phil Murphy, is a board-certified pediatric dentist, a dental surgeon, an assistant professor and the founder of Brilliant Smiles Pediatric Dentistry.

A Newark native, her passion for serving the community led her to open the practice, as a new mom, with the goals of providing high-quality care, integrating her love of the arts and ensuring kids leave her office with a positive experience. In addition to her practice, Webb serves on the faculty of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, the hospital where she was born.

Earlier this week, Webb has selected to the ROI-NJ Influencers: Women in Business list.

Webb received a Bachelor of Science degree from Montclair State University. Following dental school at Howard University, she earned a Master of Public Health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, while completing her general practice residency at Newark Beth Israel. She received specialty training in pediatric dentistry from Howard University during her post-doctoral pediatric training.
