PrimoHoagies celebrates 100th location (win free food!) and expansion into Mich.

Westville-based sandwich chain PrimoHoagies reached a pair of milestones recently, preparing to open its 100th location and expanding into Michigan, it announced Wednesday.

The chain’s latest shop, in Sewell, will open Tuesday, PrimoHoagies said in a news release. This opening comes on the heels of six more stores opening during the first two months of the year.

Those newest openings included PrimoHoagies’ first two stores in Texas, and now it has signed an eight-store deal for the Michigan market, it said. The chain has 85 stores currently under development and 125 scheduled to open by year-end.

“As we celebrate the opening of our 100th location, I am extremely proud of the success we have achieved thus far,” owner, CEO and President Nicholas Papanier Jr. said in a prepared statement. “This is a major milestone in the franchise industry, and it demonstrates the strength and appeal of the PrimoHoagies brand. We have a tremendous opportunity to continue our expansive growth, and we are committed to providing our customers with the highest-quality products and the best customer service in the industry. I look forward to the next phase of our journey, and the many exciting opportunities that lie ahead.”

The March 21 opening in Sewell will start at 9:30 a.m., then feature a ribbon-cutting and bread-breaking ceremony at 9:45. The first 100 customers will receive a free Primo-size hoagie, and the lucky 100th customer will win free hoagies for a year.

The chain said it is on pace to achieve $100 million in sales for 2023, more than double the figure when Papanier took over in October 2019.
