NJ Spotlight News correspondent Raven Santana will be the new host of its weekly business series, “NJ Business Beat,” beginning March 25. She will replace Rhonda Schaffler.
The show, which aims to take an in-depth look at the stories, trends and influencers shaping New Jersey’s business landscape with insight from industry experts, airs Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. on NJ PBS.
In her five years of coverage for NJ Spotlight News, Santana has reported on the state’s business climate, the environment, health care issues including maternal health and the COVID-19 pandemic, DACA “Dreamers” recipients, legislation for undocumented workers and residents and more.
Prior to joining NJ Spotlight News, she was a breaking news reporter at FiOs 1 News in New York.
NJ Spotlight News Senior Managing Editor James Kraft had praise for both Santana and Schaffler.
“Raven Santana is not only a respected journalist and broadcast host, she is a mom, a New Jersey homeowner and active in her community,” he said. “We’re excited about the fresh perspective that she will bring to the subject matter and look forward to growing the series with her insight.
“We wish Rhonda Schaffler all the best as she explores new professional opportunities and thank her for sharing her business expertise for the past six years.”
Funding support for “NJ Business Beat” is provided by IBEW Local 102 and New Jersey Business & Industry Association.
