The carrier, by far the largest in New Jersey, said it is looking to add more than 2,100 people this year as it looks to grow its EWR operation in anticipation of the more than 700 new aircraft being added to its fleet in the coming years.
United officials said they are looking to hire customer service, ramp and technical operations (facility and ground maintenance technicians) team members to be based at Newark Liberty International, as well as flight attendants to be based across various markets.
The airline is offering a $10,000 bonus for well-qualified technical operations candidates.
United offers competitive wages and a wide range of benefits including a 401K match program, healthcare benefits and travel benefits allowing employees and their family and friends to see the world.
As part of its United Next growth plan, United will add more than 50,000 employees companywide in the coming years – from frontline operational roles to management and administration.
Currently, United is one of Newark’s largest employers with about 14,000 team members.
The hiring comes as the airline continues to grow in Newark/New York. Last month, United launched the only nonstop flight by a U.S. carrier to Dubai. This summer the carrier will operate 413 daily flights from EWR, including relaunching service to Prague and Sweden.
