Q&A: A quick look at the Frank J. Guarini School of Business at Saint Peter’s University

What areas or disciplines does your business school specialize in?

The Data Science Institute: It offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees — and it embodies the university’s commitment to data-informed decision-making.

The legal studies program: It provides students with practical knowledge about contracts and other documents that business professionals utilize every day.

The cybersecurity program: It empowers students to assist in the ongoing protection of computer records and personal information, both across the globe and in our local communities.

What are three unique classes at the school?

  • Excel for the Accounting and Business Environment.
  • Financial Statement Analysis.
  • Enterprise Design Thinking.

These classes always have waitlists, but it’s our partnerships that make us unique.

The school recently launched a pilot program in collaboration with PwC for a paid, 30-credit post-bachelor experience offered by Saint Peter’s, with work experience at PwC that will enable accounting students to earn the necessary credits for a Certified Public Accountant license in New Jersey through a “Work for Credit” program.

What is one aspect of your business department that you feel makes it stand out?

In today’s world, students must have real-world experience before they graduate. Through our corporate partnerships, students are getting direct access to a company’s top talent via mentorships and professional development opportunities, which enables them to apply the knowledge they learn in the classroom to an actual experience.
