What areas or disciplines does your business school specialize in?
The School of Business and Information Sciences specializes in the studies of finance, accounting, economics, international business, management, marketing, health care management, cybersecurity and other emerging areas in computer science.Â
Undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered in all of these areas. We are launching the newly approved finance major program in fall 2023.
What are three unique classes at the school?
We have three classes with a distinctive global connection:
Colombia: We teach a corporate finance class with la Universidad Catolica de Pereira in Colombia, South America. Students work in virtual teams learning differences in corporate finance.Â
Ireland: Our faculty leads a trip to Belfast, where undergraduates collaborate with Irish students on an economics project.Â
United Nations: Global business students learn with partners in the U.K., Turkiye, Ireland and Colombia. During the course, there is a visit to the U.N. in New York City to see how countries can work together.
What is one aspect of your business department that you feel makes it stand out?
Students are taught by faculty who have worked in their respective fields, coupling real-world experience with current theory. Beginning in the fall of 2023, every student will complete a mandatory internship, ensuring workforce preparedness and marketability. We partner with many organizations to provide our students with mentorship, professional development and experiential learning opportunities.
