Sills Cummis & Gross adds 1 to its Corporate Practice Group

Sills Cummis & Gross on Monday said it added Matthew Holden as its newest member of the firm. Holden joins the Corporate Practice Group, where he focuses on mergers & acquisitions, general corporate work and commercial real estate matters.

Prior to joining Sills Cummis, Holden was the founder and managing member of Holden Legal Group, a boutique law firm. He began his legal career practicing corporate and securities law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Holden left Skadden to join Ospraie Management, the investment manager for the Ospraie Funds, as in-house counsel, where he worked on general corporate, hedge fund and securities and real estate-related matters. Prior to earning his law degree, Holden obtained extensive finance experience while working in investment banking for Lehman Bros.

“We are pleased that Matt has joined us — he has built a quality legal practice over the years and is a great addition to our Corporate Practice Group,” Sills Cummis Managing Partner Max Crane said. “Since its founding, Sills Cummis attorneys have provided quality and effective legal services to a wide range of clients, from Fortune 500 to emerging growth and foreign corporations doing business in the U.S. Matt’s clients know him to provide quality and effective legal services, only enhancing this aspect of the firm.”

“I am pleased to join Sills Cummis, because of the firm’s incredibly talented attorneys and support staff and their unwavering dedication to client service, in addition to the firm’s enormous bench strength,” Holden said.

Holden is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.B.A. from Emory University.
