EDA to issue expressions of interest form for Indoor Amusement Park Grant Program

Agency looking to determine level of interest, track parties for awards that could range from $5K to $150K

If you were an indoor amusement park, arcade or entertainment facility that was hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for a grant from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority worth up to $150,000, courtesy of the aptly named New Jersey Indoor Amusement Park Grant Program.

Here’s how you can find out.

On Friday, the EDA will issue an expressions of interest form for the Indoor Amusement Park Grant Program for potential program applicants.

The expressions of interest form will help determine level of interest and track interested parties. Once a potential applicant submits an expression of interest form, EDA staff will be in contact with the entity to discuss program specifics, eligibility requirements and the program’s next steps.

The expression of interest form is not an application, nor does it require approval. Applications for the Indoor Amusement Park Grant Program are expected to launch later this year.

The grant program will offer one-time grants from $5,000 up to $150,000.

For eligibility, venues must have opened on or before March 9, 2020, and demonstrate a financial need by reporting at least a 50% loss in indoor self-reported gross revenue from the 12-month period of April 2019. Businesses must be open and operating at the date of application.
