Top offshore wind leaders set to appear at Sweeney Center event at Rowan on May 3

The Steve Sweeney Center for Public Policy at Rowan University will host “Offshore Wind Technology in New Jersey: Sustainability, Emerging Markets and Policy” on May 3.

The event, which begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m., will feature a number of notable names from Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration, including Labor Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo and Environmental Protection Commissioner Shawn LaTourette. Tim Sullivan, the CEO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, also will participate.

In addition, U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross (D-1st Dist.); Rowan University President Ali Houshmand; Rowan College of South Jersey President Frederick Keating; and Giuseppe Palmese, dean of the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, are expected to participate.

Senior officials from Jersey Central Power & Light (President Jim Fakult), Public Service Electric & Gas (Craig Lathrop), Ørsted (Maddy Urbish), Atlantic Shores (Maguette Fall) and Invenergy (Wesley Jacobs) also will be involved.

Sweeney, the former state Senate president, will deliver a keynote address.
