Longtime Carteret staple, Alfredo’s Pizza, is moving to the Botanic

Family-owned restaurant moving down the block to newly constructed mixed-use development

Family-owned and -operated Alfredo’s Pizza, a longtime staple in Carteret, is moving — but not far.

On Wednesday, the restaurant announced it is relocating from 55 Washington Ave. to the Botanic, the impressive mixed-use project at 36 Washington Ave. that includes 243 units of residential and is only minutes away from New Jersey’s newest incoming ferry stop, which is projected to be an entertainment hub within the next year.

Alfredo’s new space, which be on the ground floor, will be approximately 2,000 square feet and have 48 seats. Alfredo’s Pizza will host a grand opening Memorial Day weekend.

The Botanic is expected to be a game-changer in Carteret.

The 1.72-acre site at 36 Washington Ave. was sold last fall to New Jersey developer/property manager Living Residential by original developer Forte Real Estate Development, of Middlesex.

“The Botanic is one of our largest and most luxurious mixed-used projects in town, and we are all very happy with the final product,” Mayor Daniel Reiman said at the time.

“Carteret has experienced more than $2 billion in private investment during the past 20 years in addition to $250 million in public improvements. With the marina complete and the ferry project starting construction soon, Living Residential is getting in on the ground floor for what will be an exciting future of development and revitalization.”

Available rentals range from $2,195 to $4,100 for one- and two-bedroom apartments up to 1,358 square feet. Showings can be scheduled at 844-422-2568.
