Amtrak is making it easier for Vietnam veterans and their families to attend the upcoming ceremonies that will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.
In honor of the U.S. military, Amtrak is offering a new sale for travel to the nation’s capital for the upcoming “Welcome Home!” events to honor Vietnam veterans and their families. The ceremonies are taking place May 11-13 on the National Mall.
Active-duty U.S. military personnel, their dependents and veterans can buy one adult fare and get 50% off a companion fare during the promotion. Tickets are available for purchase now through May 15. Travel dates are May 9-May 15, for travel on the Northeast Regional, Acela and the Vermonter to and from Washington, D.C., to Boston/Springfield, Massachusetts, and cities in between.
