Construction has begun on a boutique multifamily rental community in Florham Park, according to developer Garden Communities.
The firm said the project at 147 Columbia Turnpike will include 126 luxury apartments, plus amenities, on the site of a former office building.
“Sustained demand for high-quality multifamily housing continues unabated,” Scott Loventhal, managing director with Short Hills-based Garden Communities, said in a prepared statement. “We took full advantage of this well-located site to create an intimate rental community in a desirable municipality with limited new housing inventory.”
The 147 Columbia complex will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments in two buildings, with an average floorplan of 1,200 square feet. Planned amenities include a fitness center, yoga room, lounge, covered parking and more.
It represents Garden Communities’ second Florham Park project under development, alongside Parc North, a group of 49 luxury townhomes and carriage home-style residences.
