CIPLA USA collaborates with American Lung Association for 9th annual LUNG FORCE Walk

CIPLA USA announced it collaborated with the American Lung Association for its 9th annual LUNG FORCE Walk with employees from locations in Warren and Hauppauge, Long Island, walking to make a difference for people struggling with lung disorders.

The 9th annual LUNG FORCE Walk was held last week, and began at Pier 16 — South Street Seaport in New York City served as a Silver Sponsor.

With a history in many therapeutic areas, most notably respiratory, CIPLA USA has been providing generic and branded products in the U.S. for over 30 years, in a country where 37 million Americans live with a chronic lung disease.

“Cipla has a rich legacy and proven expertise in respiratory health and a commitment to helping millions breathe free,” Arunesh Verma, CEO and president, Cipla North America, said. “Guided by our purpose of ‘Caring for Life,’ we are dedicated to support initiatives that help raise awareness and enhance access to high-quality treatments for patients with lung ailments/diseases. Our partnership with the American Lung Association for the LUNG FORCE Walk is a step in the right direction. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of patients by bringing respiratory care closer to them.”

The LUNG FORCE Walk supports the work of the American Lung Association to defeat lung cancer, improve the air we breathe, reduce the burden of lung disease on individuals and their families, and eliminate tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases. According to the ALA, Asthma affects approximately 34 million Americans, including adults and children, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which includes emphysema and bronchitis, affects 12.5 million adults; lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in men, and now surpasses breast cancer to be the leader in cancer deaths among women in the U.S.

“I walk because I believe in the strength of community and family. I am honored to participate in the LUNG FORCE Walk this year alongside my dad, knowing that it will create a memorable experience for both of us,” Jennifer Kopacz, a commercial team member at Cipla USA, said. “By uniting with him and my colleagues at Cipla, we aim to raise awareness and funds for life-saving research, demonstrating our commitment to lung leadership, patient care, and improving access to a brighter, healthier future for all. Join us in this cause, as together we can make a difference in mitigating the burden of diseases and fostering a stronger, more resilient community.”
