Katie Skilton named president of N.J. chapter of National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals

Katie Skilton has been elected president of the New Jersey chapter of the National Association of Benefits and Insurances Professionals, according to a Monday announcement from the statewide organization representing licensed health insurance agents, brokers, consultants and benefits professionals in New Jersey. She will officially take the reigns July 1.

Active in NABIP-NJ (formerly NJAHU) since 2003 in many leadership positions, Skilton has served as state secretary, vice president and conference chair, as well as president of the northern chapter of NABIP-Northern Jersey.

Skilton, who lives in Morristown, is an account executive at Delta Dental in Parsippany. Prior to her role at Delta Dental, she served as senior account executive at Aetna for nearly 22 years.

“With the critical issues currently facing our industry, NABIP-NJ’s role as advocate for New Jersey’s health insurance brokers and the customers we serve is more important than ever,” Skilton said. “NABIP-NJ must continue to provide the most up-to-date information to our members about the constantly changing regulations facing our customers. We also serve as an important resource for the legislators who craft those regulations that will impact both businesses and consumers in our state.”
