Hackensack Meridian Health said it is proud to be the official health care provider of the Mizuho Americas Open, to be held Thursday through Sunday at the Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City. The LPGA golf tournament will showcase 120 of the best LPGA golfers along with top ranked junior girls of the American Junior Golf Association. LPGA icon and major champion Michelle Wie West will serve as the tournament host.
The Mizuho Americas Open will mark the first time Liberty National welcomes the LPGA Tour after hosting several world-class events, including the Presidents Cup and multiple PGA Tour playoff stops. The tournament will see the best golfers in the world compete for a $2.75 million purse, one of the largest non-major championship purses on the LPGA Tour calendar for the 2023 season, against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty.
“Hackensack Meridian Health is proud to support female athletes in their pursuit of greatness at the Mizuho Americas Open, and keep them healthy in the process,” CEO Robert Garrett said. “Our health system is the largest and most comprehensive across New Jersey, so it is a natural fit that we would care for the athletes as the tournament comes to the Garden State, continuing our focus on providing the best in care for these athletes and all the patients we serve.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Hackensack Meridian Health as the official health care provider of the inaugural Mizuho Americas Open,” Caila Roberts, tournament director, said. “We take comfort in knowing that our LPGA players, sponsors, volunteers and spectators will all be taken care of by the best doctors and technicians in the business while on-site at Liberty National and will also have access to the nationally renowned Hackensack Meridian Hackensack University Medical Center.”
In furtherance of a commitment to improving the health of women and children, Hackensack Meridian Health will utilize the tournament partnership to drive awareness and fundraising efforts for NICUSTRONG, a philanthropic initiative of Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation, which helps fund innovative treatments, cutting-edge equipment to provide exceptional care, much-needed research and support for parents and family in need of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Hackensack Meridian Children’s Health Joseph M.
