Somerset-based SHI on Tuesday announced the hiring of Andrea Daugherty as head of digital health. Daugherty will serve as a member of SHI Healthcare’s senior leadership team, where she’ll manage a group that will collaborate with customers, partners and other internal teams to develop digital solutions that support the company’s health care clients’ unique needs.
Daugherty joins SHI from the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin, where she served as chief information officer. She developed and implemented new programs and enterprise strategies for infrastructure, governance, information security, clinical systems and project management as a part of Dell Medical’s digital transformation. She brings more than a decade of progressive health care technology and clinical experience as well as a unique perspective as a former SHI customer.
“Andrea’s exceptional experience in IT and health care make her a perfect fit to help SHI’s health care customers drive digital transformation throughout their organizations,” Denise Collison, senior vice president of public sector, said. “Andrea has consistently broken barriers in her career as the first African American female in every IT leadership position she’s earned, demonstrating not only her proficiency in health care technology, but also the determination and commitment that SHI prides itself on. Andrea’s addition to Jennifer Emory’s health care team makes us better positioned to enhance patient care and improve operational efficiencies for our customers.”
