The city of Plainfield recently hosted the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Muhlenberg Ambulatory Surgery Center at 1280 Randolph Road.
MASC will provide minimally invasive surgical care to the residents of Union County and beyond. As a 17,728-square-foot, state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center with four Class C Operating Rooms, MASC will provide cost-effective and quality pain management, orthopedic, sports medicine, spine/neuro, ortho spine, podiatric and lower-extremity vascular services.
MASC is a project that was fulfilled in collaboration with the city of Plainfield and CHA Partners.
“(This is) another opportunity to introduce a thriving business into the city of Plainfield. It adds to our quality of life,” Director of Economic Development Zenobia Fields said. “We welcome Muhlenberg Ambulatory Surgery Center as not only an asset to our local business community, but also as a resource for health and wellness for our surrounding areas at large. This definitely showcases how Plainfield is growing as a destination for more than one reason.”
“We are thrilled to welcome medical services at this site where the former Muhlenberg hospital used to be,” Mayor Adrian Mapp said. “Plainfield suffered a crushing blow when Muhlenberg closed, and having a local facility that offers same-day surgeries will be extremely convenient for many residents, especially our senior citizens or those who have transportation challenges. We are grateful for the partnership with NJ ASC and CHA Partners.”
“(CHA) wanted to make sure that health care and jobs were actually returned back to the community. We are very proud of this facility, and we hope the community is also proud of this facility,” CHA Managing Partner William Colgan said. “Our expectation is that it’s probably going to be one of the busiest surgical centers within 50 miles of its location, and I say that with great confidence.”
If there were a few words that summarized the day with the combined vision of Mapp and Colgan, they were: “Health care is local.”
