Coffee-and-waffles eatery opens in Ortley Beach

Pressed, a new coffee and waffles eatery, opened its doors this spring, bringing sweet and savory offerings to 28 Third Ave. in Ortley Beach, announced Walters, the property’s owner/developer.

The fast-casual restaurant occupies street-level space in the new, approximately 3,250-square-foot ocean-block building, where a Walters model home and office are nearing completion.

“My partner and I were searching for a new concept that is fun and easy to grow,” said Ryan Daly, who co-owns the business with Robert Ciliento. “We came up with this idea of a new-age coffee shop that also offers different waffle flavors.”

In addition to customized Belgian waffles, the Pressed menu highlights ice cream options and paninis. A small indoor and outdoor seating area is available.

The Toms River-based business partners are experienced franchise owners, with five Playa Bowls shops in Ocean County. “We’re very familiar with doing business at the Jersey Shore and are confident it’s the perfect spot for Pressed,” Daly said. “We’re excited to welcome everyone to our new restaurant just in time for the summer season.”

“This is a great spot for a food concept like Pressed,” Walters’ Ed Walters Jr., founder and president, said. “We’re looking forward to watching Ryan’s and Robert’s success in the neighborhood and are pleased to have this new shop as a built-in ‘amenity’ for our own team and clients visiting our Ortley Beach model home and office.”

Walters expects its own spaces at 28 Third Ave. to open this summer.
