Leasing has officially launched for the second residential building at the Parker, the offering of luxury rental residences and street-level retail space that has elevated a stretch of Park Avenue in Downtown Rutherford — just two blocks from borough’s train station.
Mayor Frank Nunziato and fellow municipal officials joined Vango Development last week for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to officially open the collection of 60 apartments and amenities located at 118 Park Ave.
Well-appointed studios, one- and two-bedroom homes currently begin from $2,370, with immediate occupancy available.
“The completion of the Parker is an excellent addition to our downtown,” Nunziato said. “I’d like to thank everyone who worked on this project to make it a great fit for Rutherford and look forward to the future as its residents become patrons of our local businesses.”
The Parker 118 joins its sister property at 106 Park Ave., which debuted in 2019 with 52 residences and 5,000 square feet of retail space that houses Steven’s Café and Song’E Napule, the popular pizzeria and trattoria that made history last month as the first Rutherford business to obtain a liquor license since the late 1800s.
The new building bolsters the vibrant streetscape with an additional 3,000 square feet of retail space that will include the Salad House and a high-end salon, enriching the conveniences and services for both residents of the Parker and the broader community.
“We thank Mayor Nunziato for joining us today to celebrate the opening of the Parker 118 and appreciate the continued confidence of Rutherford’s municipal administration in our efforts to enhance the downtown and contribute to the residential landscape,” Van Golemis, principal of Vango Development, said. “Rutherford has become a highly desired living destination, blending a friendly small-town environment with the energy of a downtown setting and convenient access to Manhattan. The success of the initial phase of the Parker showcases its appeal, and we are delighted to expand the overall lifestyle with new apartments and amenities.
Homes at the Parker 118 offer airy living spaces loaded with designer features and appointments, including oversized operable windows, plank flooring, high ceilings and spacious custom closets. Gourmet kitchens are outfitted with Quartz countertops, Kohler fixtures, stainless-steel appliances and soft-closing cabinets. Conveniences include full-size in-home washer and dryer and energy-efficient heat and air.
Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, with interior amenities imagined by the Childs Dreyfus Group, the Parker 118 provides a private entrance and elegant lobby and is connected to the initial Parker building via a shared landscaped courtyard.
The scenic outdoor space has been designed to foster natural opportunities for residents to meet and interact, with lounge seating, fire pits, barbecue grills, foosball and pingpong tables, a bar with shade canopy, lighting and music.
Shared interior amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, coworking lounge and a resident lounge/club room with billiards, shuffleboard and large-screen TVs. The pet-friendly, smoke-free community also provides Wi-Fi in common areas, a Butterfly Smart Phone/Video Intercom system, Amazon Hub system, bike storage and a private parking garage with electric car charging stations.
