Kissaki to open Kamasu sushi restaurant at Gateway Center in Newark

Sushi will soon be on the menu at Gateway Center, with Onyx Equities recently securing Kamasu by Kissaki as the 11th dining option at the Junction, its 100,000-square-foot dining, entertainment and gathering destination located in the heart of downtown Newark.

Newark’s downtown crowd already has a vast selection of dining options from healthy to decadent with fresh&co, Farinella Artisanal Pizza and Bakery, 375° Chicken ‘n Fries and Chip City Cookies already open, and Uncle Willie’s Wings, Mökbar, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop and Serafina coming soon. Dunkin’ and Jersey Mike’s are also open.

“Invest Newark is pleased with the effort that clearly has gone into ensuring the Junction at Gateway’s new design welcomes all Newarkers as well as those visiting inside to dine,” Marcus Randolph, CEO and president of Invest Newark, said. “We’re sure Kamasu sushi will be a welcome addition to the already great diversity of options at the Junction.”

“It’s rewarding to see regional and world-renowned restaurants choose Newark and the Junction at Gateway Center as the next location in their expansion plans,” Jon Schultz, co-founder and managing principal for Onyx Equities, said. “We carefully curated the restaurateurs to provide the community with a unique variety of culinary options, offering the opportunity to try something new each time they come back.”
