AmeriHealth to offer more options for Medicare-eligible in New Jersey

Abuella to head insurer’s efforts as director of sales

AmeriHealth will be offering those who qualify for Medicare in New Jersey more options for health care coverage this fall — and it has appointed Sam Abuella to head up the efforts.

Abuella, who has more than two decades of experience in the health care space, has been named the director of Medicare sales. In this role, he will lead AmeriHealth’s efforts and strategic initiatives in the development, implementation and active monitoring of sales and retention strategies for the Medicare segment.

Mike Munoz, market president of AmeriHealth, welcomed Abuella to the role.

“We are excited to welcome Sam Abuella to our team,” he said. “He will play an integral role in supporting our efforts to expand our footprint in the Medicare market. His decades of experience will be an asset to our members as we support their health and well-being through every stage of life.”

Munoz said the increased Medicare options match the mission of AmeriHealth, which has been providing affordable health plans to members for more than 30 years.

“Our priority is ensuring our communities have access to care, and, by expanding our Medicare offerings, we are continuing to do just that,” he said.
