Ripco lands leasing assignment for ShopRite-anchored shopping center in Hillsborough

Ripco Real Estate on Monday said it was named the exclusive leasing agent for the new 120,000 square foot ShopRite anchored shopping center in Hillsborough. Village Super Market is developing the shopping center, which it has operated since 1985.

Ripco’s team of Curtis Nassau, Jake Frantzman and Patrick Brake will be spearheading leasing efforts for this assignment.

Villiage has been the operator of the existing 60,000-square-foot ShopRite in Hillsborough and said it plans to construct a new 80,000-square-foot ShopRite plus 40,000 square feet of end-cap and in-line space for retail and service uses along with drive-through pad sites.

The new ShopRite will be a state-of-the-art supermarket.

According to Nassau, “With customers coming two to three times a week, you would be hard-pressed to find a better shopping center anchor than ShopRite.”

Village expects to start building the new shopping center in the first quarter of 2024. This new 120,000-square-foot shopping center will be located in the heart of Hillsborough, at the southeast corner of Route 206 and Homestead Road. The shopping center will utilize the existing traffic light at Homestead Road, have multiple access points, a large parking field and excellent visibility from busy Route 206.

With its strategic positioning, the center is set to become a prime destination for retail, dining, services and personal care.

“We’ve already had terrific interest from national restaurants, franchise spa and salon operators, and from several traditional national brick-and-mortar retailers,” Frantzman said.

“The new ShopRite Center has terrific reach. With approximately 30,000 cars a day, U.S. 206 is a vital conduit between Princeton and Bridgewater, and beyond. And, Hillsborough is situated right in the middle,” according to Brake.
