The famed Crystal Auto Mall in Green Brook has been sold.
Crystal Auto Mall, which was opened in 1988 by Robert Nitabach and Michael Rendine, became a household name in the state, selling Toyotas and Mazdas.
The dealerships became available following the death of Rendine — as part of a succession plan.
The dealerships were sold to New York-based Empire Auto Group, which adds these two New Jersey dealerships to the 19 it has in New York.
Dave Cantin, CEO of the Dave Cantin Group, helped create the plan and orchestrate the sale.
“This acquisition showcases our ability to provide unmatched succession legacy planning services to dealership owners looking to successfully navigate such significant transitions,” he said. “We ensured Crystal Auto Mall had a well-designed plan, preserving the value of its dealerships. Our proactive approach not only provides peace of mind to owners, but also enhances the attractiveness of their business to potential buyers.”
Cantin and Executive Vice President Brian Traugott facilitated this buy/sell transaction.
