Effective this week, Moorestown-based Reconstructive Orthopedics and its 300-plus employees are now part of Virtua Health’s Virtua Medical Group. The prominent medical-surgical practice is now Virtua Reconstructive Orthopedics. More than 90 orthopedic clinicians are now part of the VMG staff, further establishing Virtua Health as a leader in outstanding orthopedic care.
Virtua Health, South Jersey’s largest health system, announced its intention to acquire Reconstructive Orthopedics in April.
At that time, Virtua CEO and President Dennis Pullin said: “For decades, the doctors and professionals of Reconstructive Orthopedics have delivered outstanding care to this community and are held in the highest regard by their patients. We are excited and honored to have this caliber of experts join Virtua Health.”
Based in Marlton, not-for-profit Virtua Health operates five acute-care hospitals, 38 surgery centers and 350 other care locations. VMG is a network of more than 1,000 medical and surgical physicians and other clinicians employed by or exclusively affiliated with Virtua that collectively offer an array of care services, including primary care, urgent care, specialty care and much more.
Virtua Reconstructive Orthopedics will build upon a 46-year legacy of care. Its clinical team has specialists in all major areas of the musculoskeletal system, including neck, spine, shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, foot, elbow and wrist. Experts in trauma and sports medicine are also on staff.
Virtua Reconstructive Orthopedics medical offices span four counties: Burlington, Camden, Cumberland and Gloucester. Locations include:
- Bordentown;
- Cherry Hill;
- Medford;
- Moorestown;
- Pitman;
- Sewell;
- Vineland;

“Collectively, Virtua Health has nearly 100 orthopedic providers on staff; it is truly an ‘all-star line-up,’” John Matsinger, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Virtua Health, said. “This ensures South Jersey residents can find outstanding care close to home.”
