Salvation Army raises $26K at South Jersey Kroc Classic Golf Tournament

One hundred golfers recently participated in the Salvation Army South Jersey Kroc Classic Golf Tournament at Seaview Golf Club. All net proceeds from the event will support the Camden Kroc Center’s programs and scholarship assistance initiatives — providing a safe place for children from Camden neighborhoods to learn, play, connect and grow.

Maj. Richard Sanchez, the Camden Kroc Center co-administrator, said that the support for the golf tournament is one of the many ways that the community continues to partner with the Kroc Center in its role of making a difference for those in need.

“We are blessed by the support of sponsors, partners and friends that make events like today’s South Jersey Kroc Classic even more special and meaningful. Together, we are able to make a real difference for families and individuals in our community,” Sanchez said.

UnitedHealthcare and U.S. Cold Storage were both presenting sponsors and U.S. Facilities and New Jersey American Water were both gold sponsors of the event.

The event emphasized the importance of the Camden Kroc Center’s work during the past year, including providing more than 80,000 food-insecure individuals with free groceries, distributing more than 12,000 new toys during the Christmas season, hosting hundreds of thousands of visits including large community events and introducing new, innovative programs like esports competitive video gaming, youth journalism, a 32-foot rock climbing program, disc golf and kids’ karate.
