Consensus Health adds five New Jersey-based physician practices to its growing medical group

Consensus Health on Monday announced that over the course several months five New Jersey-based independent medical practices spanning eight physicians and six locations, have joined its medical group, which now includes 53 practices and more than 150 independent providers within its growing network.

The Marlton-based physician-owned and -governed group said that in the case of these five additions, physicians chose to join Consensus Health based on the many benefits they receive from being part of a larger medical group model such as participating in value-based programs; gaining access to various administrative support services; utilizing various technology platforms and enhanced turn-key practice processes; and, gaining a greater voice when dealing with contracting across many areas of the business.

Being part of Consensus Health Medical Group affords member physicians clinical autonomy. This is of major importance to independent physicians as the key reason they practice autonomously is to ensure they retain their abilities to focus on the patient and make the best decisions with regard to their care plans.

“We welcome these independent practitioners to our growing network. We recognize that the role of the independent physician within today’s rapidly changing health care arena has severely diminished. Consensus Health is preserving their independence by empowering physicians to determine and dictate the care they deliver,” Michael Lovett, Consensus Health president and chief operating officer said.
