NAI James E. Hanson helps electric sports car manufacturer relocate from Spain to Lafayette

Look out Lafayette, vintage Shelbys, Cobras and Mustangs, plus other high-performance sports cars will be motoring around as Cobera Automotive has leased a 10,200 square-foot industrial/flex building at 11 Millpond Drive, according to a Tuesday announcement from NAI James E. Hanson.

Hanson’s John Schilp represented both the landlord, 11 Millpond Drive LLC, and Cobera in the transaction.

Located at the corner of Millpond Drive and Route 94, the property offers a ridgeline height of 31-feet and wall height of 18-feet. It features three 14-foot drive-in doors with one containing a hydraulic lift gate and two 12-foot drive-in doors, the property is suited to meet the needs of a variety of commercial and industrial tenants.

Selected as the exclusive brokerage firm for the property, NAI James E. Hanson implemented a strategic marketing strategy to attract tenants that could benefit from the property’s location, size, and adaptability. Cobra is an electric sports car manufacturer with over 20 years of experience in designing and building light-sport aircraft, drones and automobiles that combine technology, clean energy and stylish designs, will utilize their space to relocate from Spain and begin manufacturing in the United States.

“When marketing a property, it’s critical that you highlight the principal features that serve prospective tenants’ needs,” Schilp said. “11 Millpond Drive’s loading options and ceiling height can fit the needs of a variety of tenants, which is ultimately why it stood out to a unique tenant who was in search of space to establish an electric sports car manufacturing facility in the United States. We’re proud to have provided the real estate services needed to finalize a deal and wish Cobera Automotive the best of luck at their new home in Lafayette.”
