Jorge Cruz has been named community development market manager at Citizens, according to a Tuesday announcement from the financial institution.
Cruz will be charged with expanding community relationships and initiatives in the bank’s New Jersey footprint.
Most recently, Cruz served as the executive director of greater Newark Local Initiatives Support Corp. Previously, he served in leadership roles at New Jersey Community Capital, Jewish Renaissance Foundation and Garden State Episcopal Community Development Corp., where he focused on driving community-informed grant, loan and investment programs to support economically distressed neighborhoods.
“We are pleased to have Jorge join Citizens,” Reza Aghamirzadeh, head of community development at Citizens, said. “His strong experience working with New Jersey community development organizations and nonprofits will help us establish and maintain the relationships and partnerships required to support our efforts to close the wealth and opportunity gaps and help the communities we serve thrive.”
