Leonard Stern
After purchasing the 600-acre Harmon Cove site in 1969, Hartz Mountain Industries was the formative real estate developer in the Meadowlands, ultimately building more than 40 million square feet of industrial property, 2 million square feet of retail and thousands of apartments with a 5-mile radius of its initial land holdings. Stern was a founding member of the Meadowlands Chamber.
