Marcy and Sy Syms
He famously brought the clothing giant to the Secaucus Outlets in the Meadowlands and eventually made its headquarters in Lyndhurst. Sy Syms took the company public in 1983, and remained the CEO until his retirement in 1998, when he was succeeded by his daughter, Marcy Syms.
