FIFA panel at William Paterson on discrimination in soccer moved to January

An event featuring the first presentation of FIFA’s No Discrimination initiative — the first of its kind in the U.S. — has been moved to the fourth week of January, FIFA and organizing officials said.

The event had been scheduled for this weekend at William Paterson University in Wayne.

A last-minute scheduling conflict led to the date change. The event is now expected to be held during the week of Jan. 20-24, 2024.

Gerd Dembowski, the senior diversity & anti-discrimination manager for FIFA, is expected to give a presentation. Representatives from the New York Red Bulls, Gotham FC and NYCFC also are expected to participate.

The event will be co-sponsored by the New Jersey Pride Chamber of Commerce and William Paterson University.
