Adam Taliaferro joins J&J as director, state and community engagement

Adam Taliaferro has joined Johnson & Johnson as director, state and community engagement, where he will represent the New Brunswick-based firm within the state.

Taliaferro brings a unique set of experiences to J&J, having spent much of the last decade serving simultaneously in both the private and public sectors. He has held various external-facing roles in government affairs, policy, strategy and operations, alliance development and patient advocacy at Bristol Myers Squibb from 2012-2023. During his tenure at BMS, Taliaferro also served in the New Jersey Assembly for seven years, from 2015-2022, representing the 3rd Legislative District in Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.

Taliaferro’s journey began as a star football player at Penn State University, where he suffered a career-ending spinal cord injury in his freshman season in a game against Ohio State University. Given a 3% chance of ever walking again, Taliaferro’s grit and determination lead to a recovery that enabled him to walk his team out onto the field a year later. Driven to inspire others, his most treasured accomplishments have come through the Adam Taliaferro Foundation, which he and his family have been running for over 20 years. Taliaferro’s work at the foundation and as a motivational speaker has earned him multiple humanitarian awards.
