Divis, staple in telecom industries for decades, retires at AT&T

Kator to oversee New Jersey as regional vice president of external affairs

Joe Divis, the well-known and highly respected New Jersey state president for AT&T, announced his retirement earlier this month — a move that led to a corporate restructuring in the state for the company.

Divis’ role as state president will be filled in a slightly different way.

Jaci Kator has been named regional vice president of external affairs, where she will continue to support and represent AT&T in New Jersey. Kator, who lives in Burlington County, will report to Atlantic Region President John Emra, who oversees all of the Northeast.

Emra offered thanks to Divis on a stellar career.

“Joe’s been a great advocate for AT&T and our industry for more than two decades,” he said. “In New Jersey, he jumped into a top leadership role and represented us well in Trenton and across the Garden State.  We are grateful to him for everything he’s done for our customers, employees and shareholders.”

Emra said he is eager to work with Kator in her new role.

“Jaci Kator is longtime leader within AT&T who will take over for Joe,” he said. “She joined our New Jersey team last year and made an immediate impact.”
