Law firm Riker Danzig LLP on Monday announced Michael O’Mullan, a partner of the Morristown-based firm for 20 years, has been named managing partner. Although a new role for O’Mullan, this appointment reflects a natural progression of his leadership responsibilities.
O’Mullan will take over, effective Jan. 1, 2024, for current co-Managing Partners Lance Kalik and Michael O’Donnell, who will remain in their roles as active members of the firm’s Executive Committee and will continue their busy practices in the firm’s well-regarded Insurance and Litigation groups, respectively.
O’Mullan brings with him an impressive track record as a litigator handling complex business disputes. O’Mullan has been deeply involved in shaping Riker Danzig’s growth and direction, as he has served in significant roles on the firm’s Management and Strategic Planning committees. His promotion signifies not only an acknowledgement of his exceptional leadership qualities, but of the firm’s confidence in his ability to drive it toward continued success.
The co-chairs of the firm’s Executive Committee, Brian O’Donnell and Kelly Crawford, expressed their heartfelt congratulations and staunch support for O’Mullan and his leadership of the firm’s next generation.
“We are confident that Mike will carry forward the prestigious legacy of our firm. His keen vision, solid dedication and proven leadership make him the ideal choice for the role of managing partner,” Brian O’Donnell said.
Crawford added: “Mike understands not only law firm dynamics, but the pressures and challenges faced by in-house counsel. He will be very effective in helping guide the firm in providing value-added solutions for our clients. We look forward to the exciting new chapter that lies ahead under Mike’s leadership.”
“We are deeply thankful for the invaluable contributions that Lance and Mike have made to our firm. Their dedication, leadership and unwavering commitment over the past six years have been key contributors to the firm’s accomplishments in recent years, encouraging our collegial culture, strong focus on client service and innovative spirit. We look forward to their ongoing participation in the firm’s management,” O’Donnell and Crawford stated.
