1st look at United Club in Terminal C, which opens today (SLIDESHOW)

The new Terminal C has been the jewel of Newark Liberty International Airport — a terminal that is an envy of the industry in the U.S.

Wednesday morning, United Airlines is opening a second United Club in the terminal, which it feels will provide customers with an experience that matches the level of the terminal.

Travelers can now enjoy modern design, locally inspired art and upgraded amenities at the 18,000-square-foot club located near gate C74.

A one-time pass to enter costs $59. A full-year membership varies in price, depending on your MileagePlus status level.

The opening of this location marks the completion of full-scale United Club renovations at Newark Liberty International Airport, historically United’s most visited club location.

Earlier this year, United opened a 15,000-square-foot United Club location near gate A27. Last year, United opened a 30,000-square-foot United Club location near gate C123. Each of these clubs presents travelers with modern design, locally sourced art and enhanced amenities and culinary offerings.

With these new club locations, United has more than doubled the United Club space in Newark.

Here are just a few of the highlights of new club near gate C74:

  • Custom artwork and Manhattan-inspired design: Travelers can experience a sense of place that is reflective of the iconic spaces in Midtown Manhattan. The club features a custom ceiling art piece designed by local architect and designer-turned-artist Ron Norsworthy, a Princeton University graduate. Located in the club entryway, the ceiling art piece is blue with vibrant gold detailing and is inspired by Grand Central Station.
  • Abundant seating: The club features more than 400 seats, giving visitors plenty of room to relax, work, dine and socialize.
  • Modern amenities: For easy entry and quick access, members can self-scan to enter the space. The club also includes free high-speed Wi-Fi and a wellness room.
  • Premium refreshments: Visitors can stop by the full buffet and premium bar for complimentary food and beverage offerings. The seasonally rotating menu offers a range of choices including local touches like apples from the Hudson Valley to snack on, as well as the official New Jersey state sandwich: Taylor ham, egg and cheese.

United officials said the opening is part of United’s ongoing commitment to renovate and introduce new United Club locations throughout its network. The new Newark club is the fifth in a series of United Club locations to open in 2023, marking a year of expansion and growth.

“The C74 club is our oldest club in EWR, and now that it’s been transformed into a state-of-the art architectural masterpiece, it stands head and shoulders with the best in the industry,” Lounges and Premium Services Regional Manager Janet Burnett said. “This transformation is a testament of the commitment of United toward the creation of spaces that are inviting to our valued customers.”

In January, a new club location opened at O’Hare International Airport, followed by a new club location at Newark Liberty International Airport. Recently, two new club locations opened at Denver International Airport, including the biggest club in United’s network.

The pop-up United Club located in Terminal C, near Gate C93, will close with the opening of this new club.
