TD Bank, with U.S. headquarters in Cherry Hill, on Thursday said it appointed Jill Gateman as the new head of middle-market products & services within the commercial bank.
In this key leadership role, Gateman will report directly to Chris Giamo, head of commercial banking, and join the senior commercial bank leadership team.
With her deep industry expertise, Gateman will spearhead the execution of the commercial bank’s middle-market growth strategy. Her primary focus will be to deepen penetration in existing metropolitan areas while simultaneously driving national expansion into new geographies such as Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago.
“Jill’s extensive experience and keen understanding of the financial industry make her the ideal choice to lead middle-market products & services at such a pivotal time in our growth story,” Giamo said. “I have no doubt that Jill will excel in this role and contribute significantly to our ongoing success. Her expertise and strategic mindset will be invaluable as we continue to grow our presence in middle market.”
Gateman joins TD Bank from PNC, where she served as executive vice president and co-head of corporate banking, overseeing PNC’s East region, middle market and corporate banking segment. A passionate champion for diversity, she was a key member of PNC’s Enterprise Corporate Diversity Council and served as the lead DEI advocate for corporate & institutional banking.
Prior to her time at PNC, Gateman garnered over a decade of experience in the private equity and mergers & acquisitions advisory industries, further enriching her strategic capabilities. Additionally, she actively contributes to her community as an executive committee and board member of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, and she has served on the boards of Family Service of Morris County and the Gill St. Bernard’s School in Gladstone.
Gateman is a graduate of Douglass College/Rutgers University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics. She resides in Mendham with her husband and two children.
“I’m excited to join TD Bank and leverage my industry knowledge to drive growth, deepen client relationships and deliver innovative solutions,” Gateman said. “I’m excited for the journey ahead and building on TD’s winning track record.”
