Blue Diamond Construction’s Miller wins Outstanding Woman Builder award

Pat Miller, owner of Jackson-based Blue Diamond Construction, has been honored with the 2023 Outstanding Woman Builder Award by the Women Builders Council.

At the annual award ceremony in New York City, construction industry leaders, public- and private-sector decision-makers and the women of the Women Builders Council celebrated Miller and others for their role inspiring the next generation of women builders.

A construction company owner for more than 30 years, Miller leads Blue Diamond Construction, one of the leading commercial metal framing companies in New Jersey. She also is the author of the recently published memoir, “Kicking Karma’s Ass,” which recounts her journey of rising up from the ashes after losing four very important people in her life in three years and nearly her business, too.

About the WBC

Established in 2004, the Women Builders Council is the leading association representing women in the construction industry on several important fronts: legislative advocacy, new business and professional development with a special focus on leadership.

Miller said she was grateful for the honor.

“Thank you, Women Builders Council, not just for recognizing my work, but for all of your important work creating opportunities for women, changing attitudes about the role of women in construction and leading the transformation of the industry,” she said.  “I look forward to continuing the effort together.”

WBC’s Champions Awards is an annual empowering event that recognizes the outstanding contributions of female professionals, from architects and engineers to project managers and tradeswomen, who have shattered barriers and enriched the industry.

Being honored as an Outstanding Woman Builder recognizes Miller’s remarkable achievements, leadership and innovation in the construction industry, highlighting her significant impact and dedication to paving the way for excellence in a traditionally male-dominated field.
