Hudson County Community College gifted $5K from PSEG Foundation

The Hudson County Community College Foundation is the recipient of a new $5,000 grant from the PSEG Foundation that will help students who are on track to graduate but face financial hurdles to cross the finish line and earn their degrees.

Thanks to the PSEG Foundation’s grant, the HCCC Foundation was able to award PSEG-funded scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $1,500, to four deserving HCCC students to complete their HCCC degree and continue along the pathway to their chosen field and educational goals of achieving a bachelor’s degree or higher at a four-year institution.

The four recipients of the PSEG Foundation scholarships are Ayanna Green, a culinary arts major from Jersey City; Nathaly Calderon, a computer science major from Jersey City; Eilyn Franco, a business administration major from Union City; and Leslie Alichel Lara Francisco, a medical assisting major from Jersey City.

HCCC President Christopher Reber stated, “It is gratifying to have the opportunity to partner with an organization like the PSEG Foundation whose strategic priorities are so closely aligned with our own.”
